The role of a 911 Telecommunicator is an important and honorable
profession. There are currently 25 individuals who are fully-certified
to perform in this capacity at McMinn County E911. This includes: 16
Full-Time Telecommunicators, 4 Shift Leaders, 2 Floor Supervisors, 1
Operations Supervisor, 1 Personnel Manager, and the Executive Director.
911 Telecommunicators are highly and ethically committed to their duties
without hesitation, compromise, or exception. This team of 911
professionals processed over 70,000 calls for service per year which includes
approximately 40,000 911 calls, 120,000 incoming/outgoing administrative calls, and
entering 65,000 CAD incidents for dispatch in addition to the numerous other
duties performed. Their goal is to continue to expedite the dispatching
of calls to the public safety responders in order to reduce response
times, save lives, and protect property.
