EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
◙Be at least 18 years of age
◙Be a citizen of the United States
◙Be a high school graduate or possess
equivalent
◙Possess and maintain a valid Tennessee
Driver’s License
◙Pass a pre-hire drug test
◙Pass a pre-hire ability assessment
through Criti-Call testing software
◙Have passed a post offer physical
◙Have fingerprints on file with the
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation
◙Not have been convicted of or pleaded
guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge or to
any violation of any federal or state laws of city ordinances relating to
force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor or controlled
substances and have not been released or discharged under any other than
honorable discharge from any of the armed services of the United States
◙Ability to pass and maintain
certifications as follows:
-40 hour Basic
Telecommunicator Course (54 hours with pre-class studies)
-24 hour Emergency Medical
Dispatch Course
-32
hour NCIC/TCIC Certification held in Nashville, TN
-CPR Certification
◙Ability to pass 8 hours of continuing
education every 2 years
